How do you use the CBR module to verify that a litter meets breeding standards?

Please note: The manager of the database can choose whether or not to display the Automated breeding check results in the Breedingpairs menu overview. By default, these results are not displayed. If you wish to display them, the manager must add the Automated breeding check results as a column. For instructions, see the support topic on adding a column.

The step-by-step plan for checking a litter is as follows:

  1. Click the menu Breedingpairs
  2. (If the manager has chosen to display the Automated breeding check results column in the Breedingpairs menu, you will see a green or red dot next to each litter. The green dot indicates that the litter in question meets the breeding check requirements. The red dot indicates that the litter does not meet the breeding check requirements.)
  3. Click on the litter for which you want to view the CBR results
  4. Click on the Automated breeding check results tab
  5. Now you can see exactly which of the configured rules the litter does or does not meet. Green icons indicate that the relevant rule has been met. Red icons indicate that a rule has been violated.

Note: Do you not see any CBR results for a litter or are the results outdated? That is because for new litters or for changes to an animal (for example, a modified extra field or an added result) you must always first click “Execute” in the CBR menu. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Click the menu Management
  2. Click the tab Base tables
  3. Click on the drop-down box that says Contact categories and choose Automated breeding checks
  4. Click Execute at the top. After you click Execute, the button will turn gray and you won’t be able to click it again until the (re)calculations are complete. Also, if you click on a litter and go to the Automated breeding check results tab, you’ll see a red exclamation mark indicating that the (re)calculation is in progress. The (re)calculation takes a few minutes.

Tip: If you’re unsure about the exact meaning of a particular rule, click the round icon with an i on it. You’ll see this next to the green/red icon that indicates whether or not the rule in question has been met. You’ll then see the description of the rule and the specified item number.
