In our Privacy Policy, we use a number of definitions (these definitions may be used in the singular and plural):
GDPR: Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive
95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);
Policy: this privacy policy;
Personal Data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘the data subject’), as referred to in Article 4(1) of the GDPR.
Processing or its conjugations: any operation or set of operations performed on Personal Data or on sets of Personal Data, whether or not by automated means, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction of data, as referred to in Article 4(2) of the GDPR.

Article 1: Explanation of the Regulations
1.1 ZooEasy may not process the Personal Data you provide to it without good cause. The GDPR is intended to protect individuals’ privacy. This legislation restricts the permitted use of your Personal Data by others. Under this law, ZooEasy has, among other things, a duty to:
- inform its customers of the manner in which and the purpose for which Personal Data is Processed by ZooEasy;
- disclose who may access the Personal Data;
- request consent for the Processing of certain Personal Data.
1.2 ZooEasy considers your privacy important. That is why, in these Regulations, ZooEasy explains how it handles your Personal Data, what the purpose of the Processing is, and on what legal basis your Personal Data is Processed.
Article 2: ZooEasy’s Obligations
2.1 ZooEasy processes your Personal Data exclusively in accordance with the law and these Regulations. This means (among other things) that:
- Personal Data is processed only for the purpose for which it is obtained and on a lawful basis;
- ZooEasy is transparent about which Personal Data is processed and for what purposes;
- ZooEasy handles your Personal Data in a proper and careful manner;
- only authorised persons employed by ZooEasy may access your Personal Data where necessary for the purposes set out in Article 3, unless otherwise specified in these Regulations;
- persons employed by ZooEasy are bound by a duty of confidentiality with regard to all Personal Data provided to ZooEasy;
- all your Personal Data is protected by ZooEasy against unauthorised access, the loss, destruction and damage of Personal Data;
- your Personal Data is not retained for longer than is necessary for the provision of services to you and/or proper record-keeping. ZooEasy applies a retention period of two years after the use of the product has ended, after which the Personal Data is destroyed. The law may prescribe a different retention period. If this is the case, ZooEasy will comply with the prescribed statutory retention period.
Article 3: Personal data, purpose and legal basis
3.1 ZooEasy processes your personal data if you become or are a customer of ZooEasy, subscribe to ZooEasy newsletters or contact us via the contact form.

3.2 ZooEasy collects your name, address, telephone number, email address and IP address. In addition, your bank details are processed when you purchase a paid service from ZooEasy. This personal data enables us to:
- process the agreement you enter into with ZooEasy from a financial and administrative perspective;
- provide our services;
- contact you if necessary;
- further develop/optimise our services;
- offer you tailored information (direct marketing).
Article 4: Disclosure of Personal Data to Third Parties
4.1 ZooEasy does not disclose Personal Data to individuals or companies outside the ZooEasy organisation, unless:
- it is required by law;
- it is necessary for the performance of a contract that ZooEasy has concluded with you;
- you have given your consent.
We do not transfer Personal Data to countries outside the European Economic Area. If a third party engaged by us does so as part of the services it provides to us, this will only take place with our prior consent and provided that appropriate safeguards have been put in place.
Article 5: Your rights as a data subject
5.1 As a data subject, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- right of access: the right to access and obtain a copy of the Personal Data that ZooEasy processes about you;
- right to rectification: the right to have your Personal Data corrected or supplemented;
- right to erasure of Personal Data: where one of the circumstances set out in Article 17(1) of the GDPR (right to erasure) applies. The right to request the (partial) erasure of your Personal Data can only be granted if the Processing is necessary for the purposes set out in Article 17(3) of the GDPR;
- right to object: the right to object to the Processing of your Personal Data on the basis of the conditions set out in Article 21 of the GDPR;
- right to data portability: the right, in the cases referred to in Article 20 of the GDPR, to receive the Personal Data held about you so that you may transfer it to another organisation;
- right to human intervention in automated decision-making: in the case of an automated decision, you have the right to have the decision made through human intervention.
Article 6: Protection of personal data
We consider it important to store personal data securely. We therefore take technical and organisational measures to prevent the loss, unauthorised access or use of personal data. We do this by, amongst other things:
- using secure servers and firewalls;
- encrypting data;
- implementing physical access controls to our systems;
- information security in accordance with ISO 27001;
- using virus scanners;
- training staff.
If you wish to exercise your rights, you can do so by emailing info@zooeasy.com. If your request is rejected, we will explain why. You will receive a response from ZooEasy within one month of us receiving your request.
You can also contact ZooEasy if you have a complaint about the way your Personal Data is processed. ZooEasy will then try to resolve the matter with you.
In the unlikely event that we cannot find a solution together, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority.
